The rhythm he establishes with three distinct sensations quickly becomes almost hypnotic to Niles.
The stretch as L pulls his skin just a little more taught, the sharp prick, dull pressure. Stretch, sharp, dull. Stretch, sharp, dull. Stretch, sharp, dull. One poke a little deeper than it needed. His ears twitch, and underneath the table the end of his tail gives a weak little flick, but otherwise Niles doesn't even blink. A few more cycles, and then L has to gently wipe excess ink off, check how much was absorbed. There's a pregnant pause, a lull in the pattern. Then it starts up once more. Niles lets out a long, breath, the end of which bubbles into a purr, entirely unintentionally.]
