He couldn't exactly go so many months being stalked by Niles, and then stalking him in turn for more months, without learning a great deal about the chimera. Light had already learned a great deal with merely a short engagement; given that L and Niles are still bound by a particular contract following pale reconciliation, it's likely that he'll have chances to learn more. L's not sure how he feels about that, yet.
