[There are advantages to having a blind Bonded, even if many of them are moot given the way they are inherently attuned to each other's thoughts and emotions. Since the incident with Niles, L's poker face slips more often, cracked and stressed around the edges. It's something he's aware of even as he feels helpless to fully regulate it; tics and twitches near his eyes and mouth, the sudden urge to swallow so he doesn't choke. All of it indicates frailty and weakness. All of it is, in short, detestable, and he'd rather Myr witness it only as far as he must.
Still, expressions have their uses. They can relax certain muscles, release endorphins, change a person's tone to something softer and milder, and L smiles through the proposal. Maybe it'll affect his mind's tone, as well.]
It sounds amazing. I really want to.
[And a part of him does, at least where much of it is concerned. It means time with Myr, it means something he can do for his Bonded, who must be strained by this dynamic and frustrated that his Witch is more of a recluse than ever, desperate to hide away from a threatening world. Myr is patient, and understanding, but surely that has its limit.
He can do this; and he has to, or risk losing one of the only things worth waking up for at all. It's the only choice (and therefore it's not a choice), but the result is far too precious to squander.]
When should I be ready to leave?
[The logistical challenges of mentally and physically preparing are overwhelming, but he can wait until after breakfast when Myr has gone to deal with that. For now, it's an outing. A pleasant one that he's not afraid of, that he is looking forward to, that is just as casual as if this was not his first time leaving the cottage in weeks.]
